FINANCIAL ECONOMICS: STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT SCENARIOS IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract
Objective. The article clarifies that the financial economy is a fundamental component of the modern global world, as it combines elements of finance and economics. Methods. The research methodology includes general scientific provisions and special methods of recognizing economic phenomena and processes, in particular, the methods of deduction, induction, scientific abstraction, generalization, expert assessments, ranking and hierarchy were used. It is noted that globalization processes and digital technologies have significantly changed the landscape of the financial economy over the past decade, creating new diverse opportunities and making it more integrated, dynamic and inclusive, but these changes have also posed new challenges that require adaptation and innovation from financial institutions and regulators. Results. At the same time, globalization and digital technologies have a tremendous impact on the financial economy, transforming the ways of doing business, managing finances and accessing services, and the positive and negative aspects of this impact have been identified. Three possible strategic scenarios for the development of the financial economy in the context of globalization changes and digital technologies for the coming decade are substantiated (digital dominance; regulatory balance; decentralized finance) and their key characteristics are outlined. Scientific novelty. It is noted that the outlined strategic scenarios can develop in parallel or interact with each other, creating new opportunities and challenges for the financial economy in a globalized and digital world. Practical significance. It is emphasized that the financial economy is on the verge of major changes that can make it more technologically advanced, environmentally friendly and inclusive, and in order to prepare for these changes and possible scenarios, key strategic guidelines for the development of the financial economy in the context of globalization and digital technologies have been identified (integration, development and implementation of the latest financial technologies; global cooperation between countries and international organizations to create uniform standards in the financial sphere; investment in education and increasing the financial literacy of the population), which will contribute to the development of the financial economy under various possible scenarios, increasing its sustainability, innovation and accessibility in the context of globalization and digital technologies.
