CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO DEFINING THE NOTION OF “MANAGEMENT MECHANISM” OF A SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

Abstract

This article analyzes conceptual approaches to defining the "management mechanism" of a secondary education institution within the context of organizational management theories. The multidimensional content of this category, which combines elements of management, educational management, and public administration, is examined. The paper proposes adapting modern management theories like situational management, Lean, Kaizen, Agile, pedagogical leadership, and inclusive management to the needs of school education. Key principles of effective management are identified: adaptability, innovation, and inclusivity. A comparative analysis of Ukrainian and foreign scientific approaches to interpreting the "management mechanism" is conducted. It is argued that this mechanism should ensure not only quality control but also the sustainable development of the educational environment, which is student-centric and oriented towards modern societal transformations. The study further explores the nuances of implementing these methodologies in specific educational settings, highlighting potential challenges and benefits. It asserts that a traditional hierarchical structure is often inadequate for addressing the complexities of contemporary education and proposes a shift to a more collaborative and decentralized model. The focus is on creating a system that fosters a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among educators. This also involves the active integration of digital tools. This includes promoting participatory decision-making and empowering all stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to create a resilient and dynamic educational ecosystem that can thrive amidst rapid societal changes and ever-evolving student needs. The article concludes with recommendations for policymakers and educational leaders on how to implement a sustainable and effective management mechanism, underscoring the critical role of digital transformation.
