FORMATION OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT SYSTEMS: CHINESE AND UKRAINIAN EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The formation of a foreign investment system in the period of globalization of the world economy is one of the priority tasks of the country's leadership. This is relevant both for countries with developed economies and for developing countries. China occupies one of the leading places in the global investment process, attracting significant resources to the national economy and investing in the economies of other countries and entire continents. At the same time, China is the largest trading partner of Ukraine, therefore, establishing cooperation in the field of investment is a strategically important task for both countries. Investments are attracted to the real economy and promising industries. The main industries in which China attracts foreign capital are: manufacturing, scientific research and technical services, software and IT services, leasing and business services, finance, wholesale and retail trade, and real estate. China invests in promising projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America, investing in infrastructure within the framework of the One Belt, One Road project. China's investment activity is manifested in its versatility and comprehensiveness and emphasizes the importance of regional ties for Chinese investors. Ukraine is one of the countries with a convenient geopolitical location, therefore it is attractive for investment and has great chances to attract foreign investment in promising areas of the economy, logistics, and infrastructure development. In order to realize its investment potential, it is relevant to study the experience of forming and operating the investment mechanism of countries that have achieved positive results, to improve its own investment policy in order to create a convenient investment climate. It is substantiated that establishing investment and economic cooperation with China on a mutually beneficial basis will allow for the rapid recovery of Ukraine's national economy and integration into the global economic space. To do this, it is necessary to regulate legislation and join international standards through an expanded program of International Investment Treaties.
