RISKS OF INNOVATIVE ACTIVITIES OF FOOD INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES IN WAR CONDITIONS

Abstract

The article reveals the essence of innovation activity as a process of creating and implementing new products, technologies and management methods and the role of innovation as a factor of economic development. The risks that affect innovation activity in wartime (innovation, financial, logistical, production, marketing, personnel, regulatory) are identified, which requires the ability to manage them. The challenges faced by food industry enterprises in wartime are outlined: the complexity of importing raw materials, the increase in energy costs, the need to diversify suppliers, and the urgent need to quickly adapt products to new consumer needs. It is substantiated that the functioning of enterprises in wartime and maintaining the country's food security at the proper level depend on the ability of entities to effectively manage risks, implement innovations, optimize costs, and adapt products to consumer requirements. In order to quantitatively assess the level of risks, a methodology for their integral assessment has been proposed. To test the methodology for assessing risks associated with the innovative activities of the enterprise, PrJSC "Nizhynskyi Zhirkombinat" was selected, where the main types of risks of innovative activities were identified. According to the results of the assessment, it was found that the highest risk was financial, indicating the significant vulnerability of the enterprise to fluctuations in financial flows, inflationary processes, and lack of investment; the least threatening was innovation, with the overall level of enterprise risks in wartime conditions being determined as high. Measures to reduce the risks of innovative activities of food industry enterprises in war conditions are justified: diversification of raw material sources and supply channels; creation of insurance financial reserves; flexible adaptation of production processes; investment in digital risk management technologies; expansion of the domestic market and entry into new markets; partnership with state and international funds.
