THE INFLUENCE OF PRODUCTION AND MARKET RISKS ON THE FORMATION OF THE INNOVATIVE POTENTIAL OF FOOD INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES
Abstract
It has been determined that the innovative potential of food industry enterprises allows them to respond in a timely manner to structural shifts in demand, the transformation of consumer preferences, increased requirements for the quality and safety of food products, and the need to comply with environmental standards and principles of sustainable development, and therefore it should be considered a key factor in ensuring the economic sustainability of entities. The main production risks (technological, raw material, energy, personnel) and their impact on the innovative potential of food industry enterprises are summarized. It is substantiated that production risks play a decisive role, as they directly affect the control over the stability of technological processes, the efficiency of resource use and the ability of enterprises to implement innovative solutions, the totality of which forms an internal environment of uncertainty, within which management decisions are made regarding the modernization of production, the development of new products and the improvement of organizational and technological processes. It was found that market risks (demand risk, price risk, competitive risk, financial risk) for food industry enterprises are particularly noticeable due to the high elasticity of demand for certain product groups, dependence on population incomes, and sensitivity to changes in regulatory policy. The results of their impact may be a slowdown in innovative initiatives, but at the same time, stimulation of the search for new market niches, the development of ecological, functional, and niche products. It is argued that market risks form a complex system of external influences that determine the level, directions and effectiveness of innovative activity of food industry enterprises, and their influence is multidimensional and can both restrain innovative processes and act as an incentive for the search for new innovative solutions. It is summarized that the interaction of production and market risks forms a complex system of restrictions and incentives for the development of the innovative potential of food industry enterprises.
